Wet fan cooling towers

Designs are available for any amount of water and any cooling capacity. In open circuit cooling towers (wet cooling towers), water is cooled by direct contact with the air stream. This traditionally used method provides efficient process water cooling with relatively small investment projects.

  • The cooling process occurs due to two factors:
  • Evaporation of part of the process water sprayed onto the fillers;
    convection heat transfer.

The proportions of the influence of these factors depend on the parameters of atmospheric air. In open circuit cooling towers, air is forced into the tower casing by axial or centrifugal fans. The air heats up and takes with it some of the evaporated water to the outside. The automatic water supply system compensates for the evaporated water.

Advantages:

  • Low capital costs;
  • Ability to work with any load and air temperature;
  • Maximum use of prefabricated structures, therefore, construction time is sharply reduced;
  • Wet Fan Cooling Towers are available in four designs:
  • Structural or stainless steel;
  • Reinforced concrete;
  • Made of reinforced plastic;
  • Wooden.
